The 14th edition of La grande guignolée des médias (GGM) will take place December 4th, all over Quebec. This traditionnal annual day of fundraising on the streets represents a broad solidarity movement that is very heartwarming! Indeed, hundreds of media and thousands of volunteers get together, everywhere in Quebec, to collect non-perishable foodstuffs and monetary donations. Created in 2001 to help the less fortunate during the Holiday season, the GGM collected to this day more than $25 million and hundreds of thousands kilos of foodstuffs, all of it given to local community organisations. Sun Youth, Société Saint-Vincent-de-Paul of Montreal and Moisson Montréal are the beneficiaries of this food drive in Montreal. Every year this major event can count on the support and the dedication of hundreds of volunteers to collect donations across the Island of Montreal!
